Question by : I want know some one who know well about Permanent magnet motor?
I am working in permanent magnet motor research and manufacture in China so I want meet some one who know the permanent magnet motor technology research. please fell free to contact me.

Best answer:

Answer by Michel
all permanent magnet motor use electricity by rapping copper coils around iron core to make an electromagnet that have the same property as permanent once (N and S pole )
so this electromagnet is from out side called stator and the magnet rotor is repelled from outside electromagnet . that’s all
if i didn’t help mail me michelnayer@yahoo.com

Question by Jojo J: Some current forms of alternative automotive fuel energies that are used include biodiesel, ethanol, hydrogen,?
Some current forms of alternative automotive fuel energies that are used include biodiesel, ethanol, hydrogen, and electricity (in hybrid autos). Define each form and discuss which one(or another form of energy) that you think will have the best chance to become the next standard form of automobile fuel energy when petroleum becomes too scarce and/or too expensive. Be sure to provide reasons to back up your choice.

I think water should be a good source, I saw a video on youtube about water cars…well its really elaborate to get into detail on it, your better off going to a college and talking to or taking a course in alternative fuel, or chatting with teachers about it more..then theres the library or starting an alternative fuel club or something like that..oh and greasecar.com is a good website they have all types if info about bio-fuel alternative fuel…

Q&A: Orwell wrote in Animal Farm how ‘we are all created equal, only some are more equal than others”….True/False

Question by marnefirstinfantry: Orwell wrote in Animal Farm how ‘we are all created equal, only some are more equal than others”….True/False
HOUSTON (AP) – BP PLC is taking a multimillion dollar broom to sweep away a slew of federal charges linked to energy price fixing, a deadly refinery blast and pipeline leaks and focus on its energy business.

The more than 3 million in settlements announced Thursday are part of the company’s attempt to get rid of the problems left over from the stewardship of former chief executive John Browne and move ahead with the recently announced restructuring of Europe’s second-largest oil company.

On top of the fines and restitution, four former BP employees were indicted by a federal grand jury in Chicago on 20 counts of mail and wire fraud connected to a scheme to manipulate energy markets.

The bulk of the fines – 3.5 million – aim to punish BP for conspiring to fix propane prices in 2003 and 2004.

London-based BP also agreed to pay a million fine and plead guilty to a felony for its role in a 2005 explosion at its Texas City refinery that killed 15 employees and injured more than 170 others.

Additionally, it will pay million in criminal fines and restitution to Alaska and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation for pipeline leaks and spills at Alaska’s Prudhoe Bay, the nation’s largest oil field.

The settlements were made public at U.S. Justice Department news conferences in Washington and Houston.

“These agreements are an admission that, in these instances, our operations failed to meet our own standards and the requirements of the law,” Bob Malone, president and chairman of Houston-based BP America, said in a statement. “For that, we apologize.”

The chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Rep. John Dingell , criticized the amount BP will pay to settle the Texas City charge.

“I note with curiosity that when an average citizen commits a felony it usually leads to a prison sentence. Yet, apparently, when a big oil company commits a felony that causes 15 deaths, it pays a criminal penalty equal to less than a day’s corporate profits,” the Michigan Democrat said.

BP reported an adjusted net profit of billion in 2006, or about million per day.

Why do some people believe that the handicap are nothing more than a burden and should be terminated?

July 22nd, 2011

Question by Sky: Why do some people believe that the handicap are nothing more than a burden and should be terminated?
Apologies for this long post, but after I saw one poster’s suggestion that we all should kill people with varying degrees of disability, I was just…stunned!

I have to say something in my defense on this issue and I just want those people to see what I have to go through being handicapped–so they will know that it’s not an easy thing.

I was born a preemie with cerebral palsy; weighed in at 2 pounds 8 ounces.

When I as a teenager, I diagnosed with a bi-polar disorder and ADD/ADHD.

In the past 8 years?

It’s COPD, Vitamin D Deficiency Syndrome, Recurrent Calcium Stone Disease, Factor Five Leiden, an optic nerve degeneration disorder, and sleep apnea–among other things.

My entire life from the get go was nothing but hardships, challenges, and failure.

I didn’t just stand by and let the world roll me over a good one. I eventually stood up for myself, I fought the good fight, and made something of my life–even though I still suffer from failing health. (Not as bad as Dennis Hopper’s though.)

And while I may not be a *major* contributor to our all important capitalist system of free market principles, I still have some value and importance in people’s lives.

Just not in terms of material wealth and money.

But no matter how different we are born, or are saddled with either physical or mental problems, it doesn’t mean that we should just be cast aside or want to see those afflicted killed out of social ignorance–because some people see people like me as a “burden”, or fail to understand just what it is that makes people like myself wholly dependent on medical and government assistance.

I just wish these same types would walk in my shoes for a day and see what I have to go through just to survive.

What’s it is like to have to use inhalers–because you can’t breathe normally–or have to take blood-thinners because you have a malfunctioning clotting factor, or any of the other types of medications which regulates your high blood pressure, asthma, depression, and keeps the nerve sheaths in both eyes from disintegrating prematurely. (Though this will lead to eventual blindness–for now, I am lucky to still have my sight.)

And to top it all off? A half dozen or more doctor appointments to deal with all these issues:

Having to run all over town to get poked, prodded, scanned and blood drawn on time, or wired up like a guinea pig for a sleep study, x-rayed like crazy, BP checked on a monthly, vitals checked to make sure I’m still alive, weight checked to see if I’ve lost any more weight, and twice a year laser lithotripsy procedure for kidney stones–so the doctor in question can stick a stent up inside and give me all those wonderful pain pills afterward–leaving me without worries or fear.

The pain, the suffering, *everything* that I have to go through. It’s because I don’t have many other choices.

And it’s no picnic neither.

But even through all this, I keep going with a sense of humor because it’s easier to look at my problems through a different window and realize how lucky I am to be cared for by so many people, than just be negative about my situation and blame others for things clearly out of my control.

I couldn’t been born normally like my two brothers, but I wasn’t.

And that’s what makes me so special.

Thoughts?

Why do some wind turbines turn while others remain stationary?

April 1st, 2011

Question by Sarah: Why do some wind turbines turn while others remain stationary?
When driving through Minnesota, my mother and I often wonder why it is some wind turbines will be merrily spinning away, while others are much slower or even stationary. Why is this? Are perhaps some of the turbines “turned off”, so to speak?

Best answer:

Answer by Starrysky
Load requirements might mean some turbine/generator capacity is not needed. No use spinning away and wearing out the bearings if the power cannot be sold. So the propeller blades are “feathered”.
Also, some units might be down for maintenance.

BP Oil Spill Disaster: curious Rov circular SAW operation whit some difficulty (saw lost and broke)

January 18th, 2011
Comments Off

Saturday May 29, 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon Desaster TOP KILL (Plan C) operation: Live feeds from the ROV (remotely operated vehicle) working on the damaged BOP (blowout preventer) whit a hydraulic circular saw. First the saw gets blocked, then the Row drops and lost it in the deep.. Finally the saw was found, putting again in position, but it did definitively not work. Was this a test of the next stupid “Lower Marine Riser Package” plan? (saw off the top of the BOP and lower a cap on it) Maybe at BP have understood that pumping golf balls, knotted ropes and other shit into the rig isn’t the fix?!! Hope that at least the saw will work better in the next useless try. Good luck to the people of the Coast. This is just a short montage of the 40minutes original footage. Why hasn’t some organisation offered payment for a contest to make the most effecient vertical wind turbine?

August 2nd, 2010

If vertical wind turbines could be made thin enough and effecient enough, they could be placed on house rooftops and be very discrete (maybe only about 12 inch tall and 12 feet diameter). A top plate could conceal the spinnig blades. The contest could require that the turbines have a max area, max height, and must work for a certain amount of time (months?). On the start date, entrants would build their turbines on a specific site. The organisation(s) sponsoring the contest would get the rights to the generated electricity. The group with the most effecient turbine after the time frame would win the prize money. Entrants would also pay to enter. I think this would be a great opportunity for many engineering universities and for the organisation(s) sponsoring it. It could also lead to MANY new “rooftop” turbine concepts that could help power individual homes, without having the large “windmill tower”. Maybe a similar concept could be used for the most effecient solar panel?
I am talking about a “Savonius Wind Turbine” type…. Google for pictures. It has a vertical axis and the wind turns the blades from the side. But apparently, there is not a “perfect” design for the blades, hence the contest.

What are some ideas you have to conserve energy, and put a lid on gas emissions?

July 31st, 2010

Some of mine:

Build extremely tall wind turbines, tall enough to reach the jet stream which is extremely windy.

REQUIRE structures to have solar panels on their roofs.

Create some kind of a filter which will be placed on the exhault pipe of cars and stops the greenhouse gasses from being emitted

Stop drilling for oil, and invest our science in discovering natural fuels

Drill extremely deep into the earth and use it’s thermal power to generate our own power

Stop using paper, and invent some kind of electronic device which will act as a notebook for schools, and plant millions of trees.

Also, open a lot more plants which desalinize natural sea water and make it drinkable

I know you’re inclined to say “heck no”, but consider the alternatives — global warming, smog, acid rain, terrorism (in the case of foreign oil), etc. Geothermal energy is perfectly clean, but you lose the landscape to harness it.
