Haha yes I did assume. Because the name ending in “o” suggested a man, whereas LibertA would have suggested a woman. Liberto did not contest my assumption, leading me to believe it was correct. Yeah I think it is sexist – it’s such a clichéd, commonly accepted view of women that I’m sick of – sex object. I take your point about the men, although they were given some socially useful aspects as well, such as wanting to save the country…they had a more balanced and dedicated representation.

This is the society we live in today, however if your really understood what this cartoon was attempting to teach you then you would realize its promoting freedom and individual liberty. This freedom would be obviously extended to men and women alike. But, it is what it is, it may be blatantly obvious to someone who is looking for it.
Why be angry about me pointing out the misogyny? Maybe cos subconsciously you understand how wrong it is despite condoning it?
Fact is, you’re a man and you get to see men feature as the main characters in most productions.When women are under-represented, and when represented, sexually degraded, you don’t have to *look* for it, as you say – it’s blatantly obvious.
Imagine if the female and male roles were reversed in this cartoon…you’d be baffled and annoyed at the portrayal of men, I’m sure.

Blatant derogation of women is something that I think is just as serious an issue as the Fed. Human rights and all. Decency and respect. Just because it’s been normalised doesn’t make it acceptable, especially to women, who have to deal with it.

I really like the message, like I said. I have been binging on these Ron Paul-related videos and I’m not even a US citizen.
However, the two portrayals of women in this video (lasting a total of about 10 seconds) are two skimpily clad waitresses whose boobs get perversely ogled and whose bikinis get ripped off, and two women on their hands and knees mud wrestling.
