Q&A: Did I destroy my lawn mower?

Question by butifulmelod: Did I destroy my lawn mower?
This was my first time to mow. Sad, I know. I mowed half my lawn and then stopped to mower for a break. When I went to start it again it would not turn over. I may have pumped it too many times, but again, I am new at this. I checked the fuel level and it looked fine, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to top it off. I remembered that my husband had some 50/50 fuel (half gas half oil) for it. So I pour a little in… not a bunch cause like I said the tank looked pretty full to start. As soon as I was done I remembered that the fuel was for the weed eater… not the mower. Did I kill the mower? Any way I can drain it out?

No dont worry you didnt destroy your lawn mower. You should drain the gas though. Its tough to answer why its not starting with out knowing how it was running prior to this. But i will tell you when you get it started dont be alarmed if you see alot of white smoke. The 50/50 has oil in it once it burns it,it will stop smoking.
