Question by : Will geothermal energy be a big hit for us?
We’re looking at purchasing a home with geothermal energy. Right now we have the traditional central air and propane heat. Can anyone tell me stories (good and bad) of their experience with geothermal energy? I’ve heard it’s expensive to install (but that’s already done for us) that’s about all we know. Anyone have a difference in bills? Big difference, small difference?

As far as I know, The Queen of England and other high net-worth people like the singer Elton John have already equipped geothermal heating system for their estates. But can the ordinary householder tap into geothermal energy and save money on heating and electricity bills? Yes, for the price of a small car it is possible to drill hundreds of feet into the ground and you can not only reduce heating and electricity costs by around 70% but you can also benefit from a free supply of pure water.
