JA 1022 ~ Twin Flywheel Hot Air Motor Stirling Engine

July 30th, 2010

www.ecrater.com ((FREE SHIPPING)) & shop.ebay.com Engine is fired by denatured alcohol burner. Heat is applied to the end of the glass cylinder . The cylinder is air-tight. Therefore air in the cylinder is permanently sealed inside the engine. This fixed amount of the air is heated & cooled , causing it to expand & contract , this driving the piston. As the displacer moves up , the air in the cylinder moves down to the hot side , so the air pressure inside the cylinder increase , pushing up on the piston . As the displacer move down , the air in the cylinder moves up to the cool side , so the pressure inside the cylinder decrease, pulling down on the piston.

Plasma Exhaust From The VASIMR VX-200i, HD

July 30th, 2010

This is one test firing in a series of experiments with the VASIMR VX-200 plasma rocket prototype. The rocket’s 1st stage (a Helicon plasma source) was fired at 30 kW using a state-of-the-art solid state RF power supply, and the rocket’s 2nd stage was fired at 109 kW using a second solid state RF power supply. Argon gas was used as the propellant, and gives a distinctive purple/blue/UV glow. The second half of the video is slowed down to 1/10 speed during the firing of the second stage. The plasma diagnostics that can be seen in this video are situated on an xy motion stage capable of moving side to side 200cm and in an out 500cm with 0.5mm precision. Because of the extreme temperatures and heating within the plasma exhaust, the diagnostics are all constructed out of refractory metals, high temperature ceramics, or graphite (or all three). The rocket and everything else seen in this video is located within a vacuum chamber, used to simulate the vacuum environment of space. Two cameras mounted within the vacuum chamber record a simultaneous top view and side of the VX-200 plasma exhaust. The VX-200 is the precursor to the VF-200, a flight demonstration unit that is intended to fly on the International Space Station (ISS). www.nasa.gov www.adastrarocket.com

Say Electrolytic Injection not HHO generator Brown’s gas

July 30th, 2010

Electrolytic injection is a new and exciting term for HHO, Brown’s Gas, water for fuel, hydrogen injection, and oxyhydrogen fuel cells. Billy Newsom of www.hhokitstore.com promotes this new key term in order to develop a more friendly term to be used in marketing, press releases, and in general terminology. Just as all industries have their specialized jargon terms, we already see many ugly phrases used to describe the systems and the gasses which supplement engine fuels with a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen from the electrolysis of water. But of the many technical terms out there, none of them are suitable for the general public… until now. Electrolytic Injection and electrolytic generators are some of these new phrases. See www.hhokitstore.com Coining the term Electrolytic Injection by Billy Newsom.

An electrical power source is connected to two electrodes, or two plates (typically made from some inert metal such as platinum or stainless steel) which are placed in the water. In a properly designed cell, hydrogen will appear at the cathode (the negatively charged electrode, where electrons are pumped into the water), and oxygen will appear at the anode (the positively charged electrode). Assuming ideal faradaic efficiency the generated amount (moles) of hydrogen is twice that of oxygen, and both are proportional to the total electrical charge that was sent through the solution. However, in many cells competing side reactions dominate, resulting in different products and less than ideal faradaic efficiency. Electrolysis of pure water requires excess energy in the form of overpotential to overcome various activation barriers. Without the excess energy the electrolysis of pure water occurs very slowly if at all. This is in part due to the limited self-ionization of water. Pure water has an electrical conductivity about one millionth that of seawater. Many electrolytic cells may also lack the requisite electrocatalysts. The efficacy of electrolysis is increased through the addition of an electrolyte (such as a salt, an acid or a base) and the use of electrocatalysts. Currently the electrolytic process is rarely used in industrial applications since hydrogen can be produced more affordably from fossil fuels.

I think they buy solar power (if you generate a ton) but I was wondering if they bought back wind? I was thinking about making some homemade turbines for a winter project.

www.ToAmazing.com/WIN.html ‘TriFuelCell’ as shown in the picture that can be fitted to a Diesel or Petrol engine. The designer of this unit is a designer of Jet engines and he had a contract with the American military to both redesign a jet engine to increase power and fuel efficiency. This type of HHO gas unit was used in part to help achieve those desired results. The ‘TriFuelCell’ has been tested on jet engines to enhance power and fuel performance. If it has helped in those extreme conditions it can potentially create the desired result of making your engine more green by saving fuel on both petrol and diesel power units. Installation with a little tweaking can reduce fuel consumption by up to 50%. There is a potential to Save up to £50.00 a week on a £100 spent on petrol or diesel on your car, pick up. The installation is very simple as the ‘TriFuelCell’ comes with graphic installation manual. Remember one litre of water produces a staggering 8000 litres of HHO Gas. Hundreds of pounds potential Savings monthly on Fuel Give your car, pick up, truck, boat, the amazing power of environmentally friendly Oxygen and Hydrogen power. Hydrogen Fuel cell helps: • Engine to run smoother • Saves on fuel costs • Reduces emissions by up to 50% • Gives more power for less fuel. • Engine run Cleaner with less carbon build up. • Increases engine life • Engine runs cooler • Engine to suffer less wear The Cell is simple to install made from long lasting components. Will gas powered cars become dust collecting fossils?

July 30th, 2010

I love cars. I’m all for green/hydrogen/electric/alternative fuel cars, and know that they will eventually take over gas powered cars in the future. My question is this: what will happen to all the great gas powered cars? I’m talking about 350 Chevy’s, V8 bmw’s, 3.2 liter porches, rear wheel drive muscle. Stored in museums? Increase or decrease in value? Will we still be able to drive these beasts in 10 or 20 years? What are your thoughts?
